Welcome back to The Gentlemen’s Agreement! In this installment of The Gentlemen’s Agreement: Afterhours, Matt and Dave discuss how population affects college towns, and how Madison is a “small” big city. Andy Rooney stops by to talk about New Orleans and other great American cities. New York is particularly nice because the people there are totally serviceable. Matt shares some paranormal photographs and we find out that backpacks aren’t waterproof. Thanks to Knowyourmeme.com, we learn more about “Boom Goes the Dynamite”. Dave decides to write a “Second Chance” (“Missed Connections”) personal ad for a girl he met at the library, which also leads to more Craigslist debauchery.
Recorded in September at Studio B in Madison, Wisconsin on the isthmus.

Welcome back to The Gentlemen’s Agreement! In this episode, Boelter, Dave, and Chan discuss beer wars and the homebrewing scene. We get elitist over StumbleUpon, and find out about the dangers of stumbling on your laptop in lecture. Speaking of lecture, where do you prefer to sit in a lecture hall? Dave reminisces about his days on terrestrial student radio, where he unfortunately never got to play a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air remix, though Matt makes up for that now. We also discuss The Golden Age of Video and classic films. Then we get nostalgic about Laserdiscs and our middle school days, which maybe is a bit too personal and inside for all of our listeners to enjoy, but hopefully you get something out of it. Matt also briefly mentions the BBC miniseries Electric Dreams, which we hopefully can discuss more on the next episode.
Recorded October 24, 2009 at Studio B on the isthmus in Madison, Wisconsin.

This is episode 1 of The Gentlemen’s Agreement, recorded live (to tape) on October 23, 2009 in Studio B in Madison, Wisconsin! Matt, Dave, and Chan discuss the anniversary of “The Origin of Species”, celebrate Dave’s birthday by drinking, and Matt attempts to test his new breathalyzer keychain. We would have gone to the Windows 7 House Party, but we decided to stay in and bring you some banter instead. That, and Steve Ballmer scares us.
